Ordering with Vetted
Purchase Terms
Last updated: 2026-07-17
Vetted lets you order ahead from cafés in the guide, timed to your arrival. These terms explain how paying for that order works — in plain language. By placing an order in the Vetted app you agree to them.
Who you're buying from
When you order through Vetted, you're buying directly from the café. Each café takes payment through its own Square account — the café is the seller, and your money goes to them.
Vetted is the platform that hosts the ordering experience. We charge the café a 10-cent plus 2% platform fee on each completed order; you pay the menu price, and the fee comes out of the café's side — it is never added to your total.
How arrival ordering works
When you place an order, we ask your card network to authorize a hold for the order total. Nothing is charged at that point — the hold just reserves the amount.
Your card is only charged when the café actually starts making your order: automatically when you arrive at the café, or when you tap “I'm here” in the app.
If you never arrive, the café is never told to start, and the hold is released automatically — typically within a day. You aren't charged for an order that was never made.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel any time before the café starts your order — from the order tracker in the app. Cancelling releases the hold on your card, and you pay nothing.
Once the café has started making your order, it can no longer be cancelled from the app — see refunds below.
Refunds after you've been charged
Refunds for a charged order are issued by the café through Square — the café is the seller, so the café owns the decision and the money movement, and Square handles getting it back to your card.
Something wrong with an order? Open it in the app under Profile → My Orders and report an issue — that starts a direct thread with the café, and the Vetted team can see it as a backstop. You can also email us any time (address below).
Your payment details
Card details are collected and processed by Square, the café's payment processor. Your card number never touches Vetted's servers and is never stored by Vetted.
Disputes & chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank, the dispute is processed through Square between your card issuer and the café, under Square's dispute process. We'd love the chance to help fix it first — report the issue in the app or email us before going to your bank.
